thank you frank.

A little Frank makes the day so much lovelier.

This song just happens to be a favorite of mine and the dialogue before it is so darling.

This song always makes me wish I was in love.
It also makes me wish love songs were more like this these days.

home.

The words of 2 Nephi chapter 22 have become something that I hold very close to my heart. I find great comfort in knowing that my Heavenly Father truly knows me and is aware of my struggles. He is constantly reminding me of that and always finding ways to bless me.

That's not all but that's all for now.

bird's eye view

The last couple months I've felt like I've been pushing a cart up a hill. Every time I think I've almost gotten to the top I hit a huge rock and stumble back down the trail I've already climbed or I get stuck in a bush or my cart topples over and everything falls out.

It has been such a draining and frustrating hike but I finally feel like I've made it to the top and the view is not only breathtaking but also very enlightening.

Now that I have the time and luxury to look down at what I've climbed and where I've been I understand everything so much better:
Every time I've stumbled back to somewhere I've already crossed I got a re-do and the opportunity to learn things in a better way. I also got to see and experience a lot of things that I missed the first time.
Whenever I got stuck in a bush and just wanted to give up it would turn out that the bush had some sort of fruit or nut that I ended up enjoying and essentially needing to get me through the rest of the climb.
Every time my cart toppled over I would have to stop and pick everything up which would force me to go through what I was carrying and gave me the chance to leave the things that I didn't need and were just a waste of space. It also helped remind me of the things I was lugging around that were good and worth the weight and struggle.

At last, I'm breathing fresh air and have had time to rest so I can prepare myself for the next mountain.

ten little indians

  1. I really miss Thomas today.
  2. I'm in desperate need of some sunshine therapy.
  3. I swear my dog gets cuter and cuter everyday.
  4. Audrey Hepburn's movie Sabrina is just my favorite these days. I'm finding that I relate more than ever now to that beautifully naive and honest character.
  5. I've finally taken on the task of organizing my sea of clothing that my room has become. Anyone that's witnessed this cluttered ocean knows how big this task is for me!
  6. Cleaning up my room has inspired me to take on the rest of my apartment and I'm finally starting to decorate and think of ways to utilize the space. It's about time.
  7. I really have an unhealthy love for chai tea and I'm pretty sure I've had like 4 cups already today.
  8. For the first time in my life I LOVE CHURCH. I love everything about it. I especially love my darling friends I've made recently...just the loveliest people.
  9. I am considering going somewhere in Europe to do WWOOF and I'm getting more and more excited about the idea. I think this may actually happen folks.
  10. The Tim DeChristopher case just angers me- don't even get me started! I can't get over that he was found guilty and the fact that he was even tried in the first place just boggles my mind. I really feel like it's just the government trying to make an example out of him and I really don't think their pettiness is going to scare people from acting on their beliefs- especially when those beliefs are related to our environment and preserving what is left of it. If anything this whole case and what Tim did kind of gives me a feeling of empowerment and leaves me with a sense of hope. I'm grateful for people like Tim.

pine cone pockets

I've noticed the last couple of weeks that I have a weird fascination with objects that I find outdoors. Every other time I go out to walk my dog I come back with my pocket filled with a pine cone or a rock or a lovely leaf that I found interesting. I really enjoy all of my little found treasures. There's a ledge on my kitchen window that's covered with different rocks and stones that I've collected and every time I walk by it my heart smiles a little bit.

I would love nothing more then to just live in the middle of the forest for little bit and spend my days exploring and collecting little things here and there and finding ways to use them. I wouldn't mind having a coffee table made completely of acorns or making some kind of article of clothing out of soft bark. I think I would also spend my days just writing forever and baking treats like chocolate croissants or strawberry pie.
Man I need a vacation...

exhausted exhaust

Dear Salt Lake City drivers,
I would really appreciate it if you only honked when there is truly an emergency. I've noticed these last couple months that the unnecessary honking has become quite ridiculous and it really makes driving more stressful than it already can be. We're not in LA or New York, we're in Salt Lake and I just don't feel like Salt Lake is the kind of place where it's okay to be a rude driver. Let's not forget our manners the second we get in our cars please. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Haley Knight
